Aussie Rules Football is a combination of rugby and football, this sport is a part of Australia. Although it is not popular as either football or rugby, it is very popular for Aussie. How can rugby and football combine is a question that I have since I read this news.
Aussie Rules Football was invented in 1858 for only reasons. It is to make cricketer stayed fit during off season. At that time, Cricket gets a lot of interestingness from people in Australia. Therefore Thomas Wentworth Wills was thinking too much about that cricketer would become unfit during off season. Hence, Thomas created a sport that cricketer can play and stay fit all of the off season. This game plays everything like rugby but have to score by kicking the ball like football. Moreover, the popular sport in Australia can play in standard pitch, so it becomes more convenient to play. Over the years it became more and more popular in Australia and started to spread around the world. Nowadays this sport has being the highest professional level of the game is the AFL or the Australian Football League. 38,000 is the average number of the fans that came to watch the game every weekend.
In my opinion, this sport can famous just in Australia only because there are many sport in the world. Everyone can decided what sports they like, but I think aussie rules football cannot be in olympic game. In thailand also have some sport that created by Thai but it was not successful.
